Katz’s Deli Brunch: Bed & Breakfast
The 2017 Katz’s Deli resident at 3307 W Washington Blvd is curatorial platform Bed & Breakfast (Jacqueline Falcone, with Daniel Arismendys Taveras-Hernandez). For a month-long residency, B&B has constructed a domestic exhibition environment designed to highlight the heart of their program: a bedroom. Visitors can book a limited number of “extended viewing hours” from 9pm to the following 10am, during which Falcone will greet guests with bedtime stories and return in the morning to serve breakfast. The Katz’s Deli Brunch is the culmination of the residency, where hosting will be discussed as an embodied exhibition practice.
About Bed & Breakfast
In 2017, Bed & Breakfast relocated from Miami to Los Angeles. Formerly called the “Jacqueline Falcone Bed and Breakfast,” B&B has been organizing exhibitions and public programs from within its founder’s bedroom for the past 5 years. As a curatorial platform-cum-hospitality venture, B&B offers visitors an intimacy with artworks that furthermore questions what is considered “personal” and what is deemed fit to be displayed. In addition to exhibition-making, B&B seeks to nurture community and collective expression through public programs and events.
